Brief
The goal was to create a premium online gallery that reflects Alice Coutet’s passion for creating art with purpose. The website needed to showcase her original paintings, tell the story behind her creative process, and provide a seamless platform for visitors to discover collections, purchase artwork, and commission custom pieces. Every aspect of the experience was designed to reflect the elegance, craftsmanship, and meaning found in her work.

Challenge
The greatest challenge was designing a website that allowed the artwork to take center stage while still communicating the artist’s story and values. Fine art websites require a delicate balance between minimalism and functionality—presenting large, high-quality imagery without distracting from the paintings themselves. The experience also needed to serve multiple audiences, from collectors and commission clients to those simply seeking inspiration.

Discovery
Our research focused on how collectors and art enthusiasts browse, experience, and connect with artwork online. We found that visitors are drawn to clean layouts, immersive imagery, and the stories behind each piece. This insight led to a design that prioritizes generous white space, large artwork displays, intuitive navigation, and thoughtful storytelling, allowing every painting to communicate its emotion before the viewer even reads its description.

Design and Results
The final design embraces a refined, gallery-inspired aesthetic that places the artwork at the heart of the experience. Minimal typography, spacious layouts, and carefully considered interactions create a calm environment where each painting can be appreciated without distraction. The responsive design ensures a consistent experience across desktop and mobile, while integrated galleries, commission requests, and e-commerce functionality provide an elegant platform for showcasing and growing the artist’s work.
